What it’s like to work with Rabbi Sarah:
“Working with Rabbi Sarah was grounding and fulfilling. I felt like my cup was refilled after working with her. Sarah gave me tools to help ground myself during transitions in other parts of my life too. Dealing with grief, a new role at work, and other big changes, Sarah was there to lend a kind ear, offer space to talk about these big changes, and provide wisdom and tools that I still use as I navigate other life changes. I find myself returning to her wise teachings even years after studying with her.”
-EG, Private Coaching Client
“When I came to Sarah for coaching, I was going through many transitions at once. I felt ready to ground myself into my new life, but felt overwhelmed and disorganized because there was so much that was new and out of place. Sarah listened and offered excellent, creative suggestions of how I could begin my process. I loved that her ideas were grounded in Judaic traditions. Talking with Sarah was pleasant and easy--even though dealing with all my emotions was neither. It was a great experience, and I left feeling much more organized and launched. I'd recommend her to anyone.”
-Deborah Beim
“Rabbi Sarah, Your active listening skills are incredible. I consistently feel heard and seen. I also appreciate that the guidance on the explicitly Jewish learning questions includes not just an answer but where to look to explore the question.”
-Private Coaching Client
“Sarah is warm, thoughtful and accessible both in one-on-one interactions and when leading services. While I have become a bit of a "lapsed Jew" since my bar mitzvah, Sarah has helped rekindle my interest in and connection to the Jewish community. I feel truly lucky to have gotten to know her over the past year.”
-David Spett, Yale School of Management Class of 2014
“Rabbi Tasman is a wonderful teacher — I’ve studied Jewish meditation in rabbinical school, but only for one semester, and needed a deep refresher specifically crafted to help get me ready for leading my congregation in meditation program on Yom Kippur. Rabbi Tasman worked with me for three sessions, educating me on the dynamics around group meditation, helping me fit my ideas into a productive format, and coaching me as I developed my ideas and got ready for the event. In the end, I was able to craft and lead a program that felt incredibly meaningful (I don’t want to toot my own horn, but it was amazing, and really, the credit goes to Rabbi Tasman). I know I’ll be able to use these lessons going forward — both with my congregation, and as an individual. So grateful to be able to learn from such a warm, focused, and thoughtful teacher.”

“Rabbi Sarah offered an avenue to continue my Jewish education after years of study to convert and become a bat mitzvah - allowing me to explore topics I didn't have a chance to study before and continue to feel connected to Jewish learning. Not only did she offer valuable teachings on Judaism, she often served as a life coach and gave me tools to navigate whatever latest thing that life had thrown me. I find myself returning to her wise teachings even years after studying with her.”

“Growing up without a religious background, I knew prayer could be a powerful practice, but it always felt a bit unnatural to me. I appreciated that Jewish prayer can be very prescriptive in a congregant setting and that I could follow a siddur. But Sarah helped me develop a practice that I could use at home - introducing me to feminine prayer and how I could incorporate it into my everyday life, not just when I was at services. We were also able to dive into Talmudic texts a little and helped me understand the format and mechanics of reading Jewish commentary. This was something that was of interest to me, but that I wasn't able to spend much time on during my earlier Jewish education. Finally, Sarah gave me tools to help ground myself during transitions in other parts of my life too. Dealing with grief, a new role at work, and other big changes, Sarah was there to lend a kind ear, offer space to talk about these big changes, and provide wisdom and tools that I still use as I navigate other life changes.”

Rabbi Tasman provided significant help in my preparation to become bat mitzvah, helping me to learn more about ritual, components of the services and how to think about my parashah. Her understanding of the texts, and her ability to create meaning for me as I prepared were critical. As well, she was there throughout, and was a full participant in the service and our family celebration. She is smart, creative, thoughtful and provided such a lovely spiritual framework that has stuck with me well beyond my bat mitzvah!
