Kind words about working with Rabbi Sarah
Rabbi Sarah,
Thank you so much for your care, creativity, compassion over our study year. What a gift to have someone who understood our family, our values, and our desires for our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. We loved the learning opportunities and monthly projects. The service/ ceremony was amazing and felt like a true representation of our family. MANY of our guests said it was the most meaningful service they had ever attended! We are so grateful and will treasure these memories forever.

We are so grateful you could help us make this baby welcoming ceremony happen; you did such a great job helping us make this exactly what we wanted it to be. - Orli, Sam and Tavi
I had the privilege of working with Rabbi Sarah Tasman on a life-affirming ceremony. It was a wonderful experience in which R’Sarah encouraged me to tap into my spirituality, creativity & writing skills. I truly enjoyed working with her. Over the course of a month, we designed this ceremony with a variety of rituals & expressions that held great meaning for me. R’Sarah honored me & the process with her wisdom & insights. I was especially moved by R’Sarah’s blessing that she wrote for the ceremony. Overall, I was delighted with the entire experience & would highly recommend working with R’Sarah on life-cycle events & creative workshops.

Sarah Tasman is an absolutely wonderful rabbi--knowledgeable, warm, and committed to helping individuals and families embrace a meaningful relationship with Jewish traditions. Her events are thoughtful, dynamic, and deeply spiritual and you can see the authentic care she puts into everything she facilitates, from working with families planning various life events to hosting holiday celebrations and mindfulness retreats. I was truly honored to have her officiate my wedding and help my husband and I create a ceremony that was creative, unique, and deeply personal. The Tasman Center is an indispensable resource for the Jewish community in D.C. and Rabbi Sarah is an absolute treasure!

I just wanted to send a big appreciation to you and thank you for working together on Saylor's bat mitzvah. The service was so great!! It really met her exactly where she was at, and gave her space to be completely herself. The service you designed was about celebrating Saylor. Also it was the perfect balance and timing of things, which is so hard to do over Zoom. I was really moved. And working with you was equally excellent -- I so appreciated your enthusiasm and groundedness and honesty. It helped me a lot to feel connected to you while leading.

We will be forever grateful to Rabbi Tasman for helping us to have a truly lovely nuptial ceremony despite our interfaith situation and the inability to gather our friends and family during the covid pandemic. As an older couple who recently lost our respective spouses of many years, we were so lucky to have found each other just before the spread of covid-19. When we decided to marry, we were also very fortunate to have been referred to Rabbi Tasman. She gave us thoughtful ideas and advice that enabled us to have a surprisingly wonderful Zoom wedding certificate signing ceremony, incorporating both religious and civil rituals and involving our families and friends. Everyone who watched enthusiastically praised the rabbi and marveled how touching and meaningful the ceremony turned out to be despite the electronic venue.

Thank you for all of your brilliant counsel and guidance over the past several months. Your patience and insight made us so comfortable with the process of planning our wedding, it was easy to appreciate the beautiful aspects of the preparation and actual ceremony on a meditative and spiritual level. Without your kindness, friendship and wisdom, I don’t think we would have learned so much or been so thoughtful about what it means to be married. For that and so much more we’re forever grateful.

Rabbi Sarah Tasman was an incredible resource to our family, searching for a way to infuse Jewish education into our son’s life. She met with me in person, listened carefully to what I was looking for, and offered ideas – not canned, generic ideas, but thoughtful suggestions that met our needs. It’s reassuring to know there are people like Rabbi Sarah in the DC area, who can act as a resource to those of us seeking a less traditional, 21st century Jewish experience.

Thank you so much for agreeing to officiate our wedding. We really enjoyed and learned so much from the planning process. And the ketubah signing & ceremony were absolutely perfect. We have had so many guests of different ages and background & faith traditions tell us how beautiful and inclusive our ceremony was. We are so happy and grateful.
